Karamokan is a place for Islamic learning. Karamokan, or “House of Knowledge”, was founded to help spread the teachings and knowledge about Islam throughout African and the world. Although it began as only offering courses around Quran recitation, today there are many classes offered on topics ranging from practical things like how to pray everyday properly all the way up through more theoretical subjects such as what goes into practicing tawheed (the belief that God is one).
